Guest Post - Laura

Hello everyone :)

Today we are honored to have a great recipe form Laura!
She is an amazing blogger from England and besides literature she loves cooking!
She also takes amazing photos and looks gorgeous!(sorry I couldn't resist saying that..)
Her blog, Kitsunetsuki is totally awesome and and you can learn umpteen things.
so here's her delicious recipe :

Lemon & Almond Halo Cake

Hello! I'm Laura and I blog about food, books, art and life over at Kitsunetsuki. Today I'm sharing with you a recipe for a lovely moist lemon cake with an optional splash of almond! We've had a bit of a cake overload in the new house; it seems like every time I bake one my housemate Sophie brings home a batch from the shop she works at. I'm not complaining though, it's becoming a nice tradition to always have a slice or two in the fridge for moments of need! For this recipe you'll just need a cake tin and the basics. The almond elements can easily be missed out if you have allergies or aren't a fan--I tend to add them because I think all cakes are yummier with almonds!
You will need:
250g soft unsalted butter,
300g caster sugar,
250g self-raising flour,
4 eggs,
2 lemons,
almond essence or flavouring,
baking powder,
a handful of almonds,
100g icing sugar.
1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (160°C fan).
2. Beat the softened butter and 250g of the caster sugar together until creamy looking--if, like me, you're unlucky and don't have a machine mixer, it can help to cut the butter into small cubes and 'smoosh' the mixture against the side of the bowl!
3. Beat in the four eggs one at a time.
4. Add all the flour and 1 tsp baking powder, and mix.
5. Zest (or grate if, again, you're lacking in proper cooking equipment!) two large lemons.
6. Add 3/4 of the lemon zest, 2 tsp lemon juice and a splash of almond flavouring.
7. Move the mixture into a lined and greased cake tin, and bake in the pre-heated oven for 1 hour. To check if the cake is ready, slip a knife into the center at an angle: if it comes out clean, you're good to go.
8. To make the icing, mix the icing sugar with the remaining caster sugar (100g+50g) and add small quantities of water until it's liquid but still sticks to the back of a spoon. You'll want it quite watery to achieve the drizzle effect, but not so much that it all runs off the top! Add some lemon juice to the icing.
9. Leave the cake to cool, then ice and decorate with the remaining 1/4 lemon zest, and a handful of almonds around the edge.
10. Enjoy!

The Learning Kitten

Hello everyone :) Today was a lovely day with Daphne and our kitten. I hadn't seen them for a long time since we both had exams.
There is no better thing than relaxing days with a cat (and a friend). So I took some photos of Ella and I want to show you that she has grown up a lot!
She's now a young cat with huge green eyes!
She's really pretty and likes to play all the time! We currently try to teach her about mechanics and feminism so she'll be a very smart cat. I mean she can already tell the difference between a pipe and a feminist!

Have a nice day!

Then-Now Wear it Again

Hello everyone :)
This week I'm free to paaaarty cause I just finished my exams!
So I'm gonna show you what I wore on Saturday night,
but it's not a simple dress!
It's a dress that I love and I've post it almost a year ago...
This is the dress and some of you may know that is my birthday dress that I wore last year!!
I was so excited to see it again in my closet and I had to wear this dress again.
As  you can see my hair is almost at the same length but there is a drastic color change..
Hope you had an amazing weekend!
Let's kick off another awesome week :)

Last Exam The Cat Purred

Hello everyone :)
Today I woke up and realised that is my last day of studying cause tomorrow is my last exam!
I feel soo exhausted during the exams..
Anyway I don't have much to say about me..But I want to show you Ella!
She is so cute but unfortunately when we tried to meet her with Efi's cats none of the cats was thrilled to meet each other!
For example this male cat called Meawulis didn't paid any attention to Ella but that's not the big news, the socking part is that Ella hissed at him and before attacking him we grabbed her!
It was so stupid of Ella trying to attack a 5 year old male cat when she is soo little (she's just 4 months old)
Here you can see a video of Ella purring..
And If someone has any advise about how to introduce Ella to other cats will be more than welcome :)
Hope you having an amazing week.

Guest Post- Lauren

Hello everyone :)
Today's post is created by Lauren!
The lovely blogger form A Lauren to Herself.
She's gonna talk about all her favorite products but that's enough from us.

Out with the Old and In with the New: Autumn/Winter Beauty Essentials

I love all things beauty,
so when the lovely Gracie and Daphne invited me to share my essentials here on their blog I jumped at the chance.
A fellow blogger at www.alaurentoherself.com and big fan of Bubble My Licorice, I’ve been looking forward to letting you all in on a few of my favourites. Thanks for having me, ladies!
Here in the UK, we’ve just about seen the last of the summer so it’s out with the old (my seasonal, summery favourites – sob!) and in with some exciting new essentials for autumn/winter.
During the warmer months, I’ve enjoyed using brights – the more shocking the colour, the better. I’ve dabbled in electric blue eyeliner for the waterline, fuchsia coloured lipsticks and bright pink blushes.
But as we head into the cooler period, I’ve toned down my stash and I’m getting ready to add some deeper, darker shades to my make-up bag.
Without further ado then, here’s a roundup of my autumn/winter essentials:

Eyes
For the eyes, I’ll be swapping my electric blue liner for a navy blue one by Boots’ brand Natural Collection. I find it’s not quite as severe as black and this particular pencil glides on nicely and stays put for hours.
I also love MUA’s Starry Night palette, featuring 12 stunning shades perfect for creating a smoky eye. These retail at less than £5 - a great way to update your make up bag on the cheap

Lips
I’m never without a red lippie in my make-up bag, but my autumn lipstick must-haves are that little bit darker in colour. I love Illamasqua’s Deeta Von Teese-esque pillar box red and this deep red (pictured above) from Miners Cosmetics. If you’d like to try red but don’t want to go all out, MAC’s Barcelona Red is a stunning muted take on the popular shade and ridiculously easy to wear – even in the daytime.

Nails
Now we’ve left the warmer days behind, I’m swapping my bright coral shaded for this dark grey/blue by Revlon. It’s called Blue Slate and it’s the perfect autumn/winter colour. What do you think?

Cheeks
Out goes my trusty bright pink blush – Pixie Pink by Sleek – to make way for my favourite peachy/pink shades. I love MAC’s Fleur Power and Rimmel’s Autumn Catwalk for a hint of colour on the cheeks. Just because it’s no longer summer, doesn’t mean we have to stash away our subtle, barely there rosy colours for something darker. Fleur Power looks great on pale skin tones like mine, too!

Hair
While we haven’t had much of a summer here in Britain, the small spot of sunshine we have been treated to here and there has wreaked havoc on my hair. It’s been straw-like, dry and full of tangles, which is where this new hair oil by Ojon comes in. I’ll be slathering this on the roots and tips for some much needed moisture. And how pretty does it look in the bottle, too!
Once again, a massive thank you to Gracie and Daphne for letting me take over their blog for the day. Hope you enjoyed by beauty-related musings!

Cat Problems

Oh yes our poor little kitten Ella is sick again.
I don't know how this cat manages always to be in trouble..
So this time the problem is  diarrhea..(yes this means runny poop)
We don't know what's wrong yet but we know one thing for sure
this cat poops like crazy!
I know that Ella would be really ashamed if she knew that everyone now knows about her diarrhea..
We told her that we wouldn't tell but I never took a vow.
Although that she's still really energetic we are worried about her problem
mainly because we don't have any clue what is causing it.
Maybe it's her food or maybe she got sick..
So if you have any idea what may cause diarrhea to a young cat please tell us.
We'll take her to the doctor as soon as possible but any advice would be helpful!

Fear Of Math

Hello everyone :)
A new September week just started!
So here I am almost like a zombie after studying all day..
As you may know this month is super busy for me and Daphne because of our exams..
Studying journalism might seem easy but it's not!
Tomorrow I have an exam in statistics (horror) and I'm terribly anxious!
Just look at what I'm studying!!!
This is a torture!
I was never good at maths..
Anyway the one nice thing is that I was trying to find a ruler in my house for the exam and I found two that I believe that they will do the hard job!
They are beyond cute, I loved them!
Anyway.. I guess I should go back to study..
Have a nice week :)

My new Handmade dress

Hello everyone!
Check out this new dress I've made.
I love it! There are candies and lollipops on the print, so festive :3
It came out exactly as I've imagined it.. Yay!
My friend Efi helped me take this pictures, we were in a rush because the sun was going down..
I don't have much time now since both me and Gracie have exams..
But we have planned great things for next month so keep tuned!

Oh and check out my ring! It's a strawberry and orange cake:) I've made it myself last year and found it again yesterday hidden in a drawer!
I think I should get back in creating jewellery, when I have the time... What do you think?
ps. don't worry Ella fans I'll upload more cute kitten photos as fast as I can!

Cupcake Lover

Oh yes I must admit it!
I am a cupcake lover!
Last night I saw a store with this amazing window display..
I couldn't help myself and I took some photos cause I love all candies or everything that seems like candy..
These are obviously not real cupcakes (although I wish they were)
but this wasn't enough to stop me from admiring them.
So right there when I was looking at them I got an idea..
I used to make many cupcakes from polymer clay and I loved them all!
I don't know why I stopped..
Actually me and Daphne used to make our own jewellery for a long time..
so please take a look and we really want your honest opinion.

Here is a link to an old post we made about our creations..
Do you like them?
